Pandan Indah, Selangor

Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2) is one of the highest traffic volume roads in the Klang Valley. Due to the high traffic volume, it resulted in massive traffic congestion on certain stretch of MRR2. One of the stretch that had been identified is the Pandan Indah interchange which the traffic will normally be at a standstill during the rush hour or heavy downpour. Therefore, the client is proposing to disperse the traffic at the interchange by introducing a flyover U-turn at redesigning the traffic circulation at the intersection.

IGS Consultant were appointed by the client in 2008 to provide the survey data to enable the civil engineer consultant to design the new flyover. The survey corridor measuring 3 kilometres long with a width of 100 metres. IGS Consultant provided a number of surveying services which include the establishment of vertical and horizontal control, topographical and detail survey, bridge survey, setting-out survey, the preparation of land acquisition plan and delivering digital survey data in JKR Moss Code.

The survey took one month to complete with the most challenging task is to capture survey details in densely populated area with high volume of fast vehicles and measuring the LRT rail crossing. To overcome this challenges, some part of the survey works had to be carried out during night where the traffic is much less and during the operations closure of the LRT.
